The short version

The interactive tools on this site run entirely in your browser. Your quiz answers, your tracker entries, and your symptom notes stay on your own device and are never sent to us. (Most answers aren't saved at all; trackers save to your browser so you can come back to them.) We cannot see them. We could not hand them over if we were asked.

The only personal information we ever receive is what you deliberately type into a form and submit — your email address if you join the waitlist, and your details if you buy something once the store opens.

Who we are

Adam Blackburn, operating healpsoriasis.org. Contact: privacy@healpsoriasis.org.

What we collect, and why

Your email address — only if you join the waitlist. We keep your address and the date you joined, in private storage that isn't publicly accessible, and use it for one thing: to email you about the launch of the book and its companion tools. Nothing else, unless you separately agree to more. Your quiz answers are never stored or sent — only your email address is kept.

Being on a waitlist for a psoriasis book could suggest something about your health, so we treat the list as sensitive: it is private, never shared for anyone else's purposes, and used only as described here. To be removed, email privacy@healpsoriasis.org; once we start sending email, every message will also have an unsubscribe link. When you are removed we delete your address and keep only a scrambled, one-way code of it, so it can't be added back by mistake.

Purchase information — once the store opens, if you buy a product, Lemon Squeezy handles your payment as merchant of record. We never see or store your card details. We receive your email address and a record of what you bought.

Basic technical information — our web host records standard request logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and to keep the site running. This is normal for every website on the internet.

Nothing else. We do not buy personal data, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with advertisers.

What stays on your device and never reaches us

This is the part worth reading carefully, because it is unusual.

Every interactive tool on this site — the Root Cause Profile, the trackers, the symptom diaries, the blood work guide, the screeners — runs as code inside your own browser. Your answers are saved using your browser's own local storage. That data:

That last point cuts both ways. If you clear your browser data, use a private window, switch browsers, or switch devices, your saved entries are gone and we cannot restore them. Export or write down anything you want to keep. Anyone with access to your device and browser can see what you saved there.

Health information. What you enter into these tools is information about your health. In the UK and EU this is "special category" data with extra legal protection. Our approach is the simplest one available: we do not collect it at all. The waitlist asks only for your email address. Where you choose to send us health information — by replying to an email, for instance — we rely on your explicit consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Cookies and analytics

We use no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no Facebook or Google advertising pixels. There is no consent banner on this site because there is nothing on it that would require your consent.

How we count visits. We use our web host's own server logs, which record the page requested, the time, and basic browser information. We do not load a separate analytics service, and nothing follows you to other websites.

If we ever add something that genuinely requires consent, you will get a real consent banner with a working "reject" button — not one designed to be clicked through.

No third-party requests at all

Most websites quietly load fonts, scripts, and trackers from other companies. Every one of those loads tells that company your IP address and which page you were reading — even if the site itself never stores a thing about you.

This site does not do that. The fonts are served from our own domain rather than from Google, and there are no third-party scripts, no advertising pixels, and no embedded widgets. When you read a page here, your browser talks to this site and to nothing else.

Verified 2026-11-02 on the live site: the home page (including a waitlist signup), the tools page and this page were checked for outbound requests to other domains. There were none. If anything is ever added that changes this — an embedded video, a chat widget, an analytics script — this section must be updated before that change goes live.

Who we share information with

Only the services we need to operate, and only what they need:

Each is bound by its own data-protection obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. If we are ever legally compelled to disclose information, we will comply with the law, and will tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.

Where your data goes

Our service providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK or EU. Where data-protection law requires a transfer safeguard, we rely on the safeguard documented in the provider's data-processing terms.

How long we keep things

Your email address is kept until you ask us to remove it (or unsubscribe, once we start sending email), then deleted within 30 days; only the one-way code described above remains. If the book never launches, we will delete the waitlist. Purchase records are kept for seven years for tax and accounting purposes. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes and then discarded.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

Email privacy@healpsoriasis.org and we will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. If you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" — we do neither, but the right stands.

Our legal bases for using your information, where UK/EU law applies: your consent for the waitlist, for marketing email, and for any health information you choose to send us; our legitimate interests in keeping the site secure and working; and performance of a contract when you buy something.

Children

This site is for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) throughout, keep the amount of personal data we hold to a minimum, and rely on established providers for hosting, email and payments. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but the best protection here is structural: we mostly do not hold your data in the first place.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant and you are on our email list, we will tell you by email.
